These maps of Calvary Cemetery burial plots were drawn along with others after the fire in the caretaker’s cottage in 1941.The fire destroyed all record books except one, and the city wanted maps to identify the burial location of the people. A person with the initials R.L.R drew all in November 1942.

1. This map shows an overall view of Calvary Cemetery including the adobe wall around the edge. The section that says Mission Hills Park used to be the Protestant portion. The drawing also shows how the cemetery was divided into sections. One section shows children’s and priests’ graves, another shows unmarked graves.

2. This map of the children’s section is a close up of Section 4 on the overall view map. On this map you can clearly see the names of the children buried there. Many of the children buried were less then one month old. Some children are only identified by their ethnic background and the word “infant”.

3. This map is a close up of Section 1 North. You can see the adobe wall around the edges. The burial plots here seem to be wider spaced.

4. This map is a close up of Section 5. The opening to the left is the entrance to the cemetery. The row that says “Unsurveyed Portion” was not surveyed.
